Why I Love Private Trunk Shows

Posted on 03 July 2026

Today I hosted another private trunk show, and once again I walked away reminded of why these intimate events have become my favorite way to connect with my clients.

Private trunk shows allow me to slow down.

Instead of rushing from customer to customer, I get to sit, listen, and truly connect. I learn what women are looking for, what they love, what they wish they could find, and what they want to see in future collections.

Those conversations are priceless.

Every woman teaches me something different, and every conversation becomes part of my creative process. Many of my designs begin long before I ever sketch them—they begin by listening.

I believe the best products are created by understanding people.

Private trunk shows also give me the opportunity to build relationships. By the end of the appointment, I know more than what someone purchased. I know a little about their life, their style, their travels, and what makes them feel beautiful.

That connection inspires me.

There is another reason I've become intentional about choosing private trunk shows and solo pop-ups.

Building a business is hard.

Being a woman in business comes with unique challenges.

And being a Black woman in business has brought challenges that I cannot ignore.

Throughout my journey as an entrepreneur, I have experienced racism, discrimination, unfair treatment, and hostility while participating in some vendor events. Those experiences have been painful, and unfortunately they are part of my reality as a Black woman building a luxury brand.

While many events have been wonderful, there have also been moments where I have felt unwelcome, judged differently, or treated unfairly in ways that made it difficult to simply focus on serving my customers.

Those experiences have shaped how I choose to do business today.

Rather than spending my energy navigating unnecessary negativity, I've learned that I flourish in environments where I can focus entirely on my clients and on creating a peaceful, welcoming experience.

Private trunk shows allow me to do exactly that.

My attention stays where it belongs—on the women sitting across from me.

Those conversations become new collections.

Those relationships become lifelong customers.

Those moments remind me why I started Danielle Emon.

My business has never been just about jewelry.

It's about designing pieces that become part of someone's story.

It's about listening.

It's about serving.

It's about creating beauty in a world that often needs more of it.

Today's private trunk show reminded me that my greatest inspiration doesn't come from trend reports or fashion magazines.

It comes from real women sharing their lives with me.

To every client who spent time with me today, thank you.

You didn't just support my business.

You inspired what's coming next.
